swarm robots MINICART 4.0

Leading Technology for Logistics : save space, time & resources

Advantages at a glance

  • platforms operating in a swarm

  • prepared for the use in restricted environments with narrow corridors, curves etc.

  • compact size

  • maximum on flexibility

  • free navigation of all platforms

  • automatic navigation to home position

  • usege of standard software packages (ROS)

Modern AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) are small flexible and scalable. They are able to lift and transport compact and complex charges in different environments like production lines, warehouses or logistic centers. Charges can be heavy and large with challenging dimensions. As a part of a logistic system the swarm robots have to communicate with ERP-Systems (Enterprise Resource Planning) based on Industrie 4.0 standards.

Requirements like scalability and flexibility, demand development of new swarm robots. The swarm robot is a small, ultra mobile platform with the size of a quarter of a euro-pallet. Movements can be carried out like a standard AGV but in addition perpendicular to every direction. Especially the last fact makes is possible to move two, three and more platforms together.

The platforms are equipped with special wheels called mecanum-wheels which are under control of a robotic operating system (ROS). Every platform is powered by a 24 V battery which supports the 4 DC-Motors, the onboard microprocessor (ARM-based) and the electronical equipment. All these features allow for an independent, omnidirectional motion with a minimum gliding.
